Hey everyone! I'm so excited for this semester in EDS 224 at Canisius! Today, we practiced a rotating chair lesson, and I really enjoyed hearing everyone else's views and sharing my own.
Comparing the childhood kids have nowadays to my own, it is evident that the increase in technology, and the ability for kids to access information via social media is behind these changes. 12 year old kids are dressing like 16 year olds, and their makeup skills are unbelievable, thanks to YouTube.
While kids are dressing more mature, looking more mature, and taking in more mature content than we did as kids, their emotions are still that of a child. Their social skills are behind, since they are able to communicate online instead of in person.
Our class also discussed whether we felt we were "pioneers" (people that like adventuring into new areas that are undiscovered) or "settlers" (people who stay in a previously defined area). Many of us admitted that we like to get to a spot where we are comfortable, but our limits are malleable and we are open to expanding our knowledge.
